Bo Bunny spotlights SCRAPADABADOO

Hi and Happy Fall from Barrie & Carol, the owners of Scrapadabadoo.com.
It seems we always have our Bo Bunny rep, Carley hoppin' because our
customers can never get enough of every new release.
Carol and I came together because we both had the same dream. We
have been paper crafting and scrapping for ten plus years and have a
wealth of knowledge between us that we wanted to share. We didn't
want just a store ...we wanted to build a community of women helping
women...a warm and welcoming place to share our love of the craft. With
the help of two extremely talented and popular UStream educators/artists,
Laura Denison (Following the Paper Trail) and Kathryn Krieger (Kathryn scraps), we
now have a community of loving, caring and very crafty ladies (and gentlemen)
that spans the globe.

Three years ago, Carol and I found Laura on UStream and loved her work! Laura is best know for her innovative Mini Albums and 3 Dimensional projects to house them. She shares her unique design work through pattern tutorials and kits. We asked her if she would like to work side by side to offer a unique experience for the audience. I noticed that the viewers had lots of
questions about the products she used and where to get them so we
proposed that we would stock the products she used each week and create
a one-stop shopping for the viewers. We also discovered that Laura too
shared our dream of a community of crafters and teaching and sharing,
helping and supporting ...just a comfy cozy place to visit with friends for a while.

Learn more about Laura at www.followingthepapertrail.blogspot.com or www.lauradenisondesigns.com and find her UStream classes at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/followingthepapertrail

Here's some of Laura's fabulous work:

Scrapadabadoo has steadily grown and our customers enjoy their shopping experience and that fact that they are never over charged for products or shipping.
We were also blessed to find Kathryn from the ScrapBeach, who is one of the very first UStream demonstrators and has a dedicated following.
Kathryn is very professional and she does product testing and comparisons which is
part of our store's foundation. When we approached her with our proposal, she agreed to give it a try!

Find information about Kathryn's projects and classes at

All of the shows are recorded and can be found on her USTREAM channel in recorded videos.

It has all worked amazingly well and we are proud to be able to work with two amazing crafters.  Kathryn and Laura's styles are completely different but appeal
to all of the same customers. Kathryn loves to demo all the new products
we bring in and Laura likes to put a new twist on some of the old ones.
Laura has also been known to send us scrambling for a new goodie or two that
she picked up an hour before airtime!

Between both of them, there are 6 two hour shows a week and we are
there for every show to answer questions and help viewers locate the
products in the store. The show times and links are posted online.
Our Blog, www.scrapadabadoo.blogspot.com will have new projects soon. Dawn
Edwards is working with us to bring some fun for all of our followers To create cards, and projects, and of course we are sure there will be some giveaways. Anybody that knows
us will tell you that we love to give away great things! So please visit us!
Our weekly Newsletter is filled with funnies, new products,
pictures from customers, yummy recipes from our wonderful
followers, and information about new things that are happening in the store or on the shows.
Both Carol and I work hard to bring in the best products we can find, with the best possible customer service.  Bo Bunny is at the top of our product list and we try to keep fully
stocked with the current releases. If there is something special someone
needs we are always happy to get it for them.

We have pioneered a format that is working well for us. We invite you

Title: World Traveler
Lynn Shokoples
When I saw the Detour mini album, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. We were planning a trip to Vancouver Island, Canada and I wanted to have a keepsake of our trip. The collection is just perfect for a mini. I used alot of the cut outs , stickers, quotes and the noteworthy to complete the album. With the pre-printed pages of the album, it just took the guess work out of picking backgrounds. This is the first time I've had an album done before I even took the pictures! That is how excited I was to play with the Detour collection. This is the cover of the album, and below I would love to share our trip with you.
This is me! We spent the day at Butchart Gardens, such a beautiful place to be.
The tags and chipboard pieces are just so much fun to use on the pages.

THIS ALBUM IS OUT FOR PUBLICATION

I just have to mention that my favorite day of the trip was feeding the seals on the wharf with all the little kids that come to visit him. We had such a beautiful morning together.

This was such a fun album to make! I just can't get enough of the chipboard, noteworthy and quotes from this collection. I hope you enjoyed the album as much as I did making it!

Mixin' things up!

Today's post is showing how we don't have to just
use one collection of paper when making a layout.
It's fun to mix and match collections and create your own combinations!

Ones Destination
by Juliana Michaels
Designer Tips: I used the colors from the photos to help select the colors of patterned papers for my layout. I looked for papers that had the color wanted and I was able to find neutral patterns that were perfect for these photos. I also fussy cut the map and globe images from the Detour Globe Trotting paper and used them to create a lighter colored background paper by layering them on the Camp A Lot Dot paper.

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Dot/Camp A Lot; Boxes, Stripe/Mistletoe; Baggage Claim, Globe Trotting and Cut Outs/Detour; Poppies/Serenade
Stickers: Home Sweet Hotel Cardstock Sticker/ Detour; Serenade Dimensional Stickers
Jewels: Serenity

Treasure the Moment
by Tomoko Takahashi

 Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Tomoko, Garden/ Serenity, Serenade, Dot, Dragonfly, Stripe, Sunrise, Trellis, Cut Outs/ Serenade
Noteworthy: Serenade
Rub-ons: Serenade
Trinkets: Apple Cider

All colours
Romy Veul
Designer Tip: Papers from a different collection can make a perfect accent on your lay-out.
The neutral Ambrosia paper was the perfect paper to balance the warm colours in my lay-out.
Also don't hesitate to use stamps or embellishments from different collections.
They often match surprisingly well.

Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned paper: Dot, Hickory, Orchard, Stripe/ Apple Cider; Sunflower/ Forever Fall; Trellis/ Ambrosia
Blossoms: Denim Daisy
Jewels: Apple Cider
Chipboard: Apple Cider Layered Chipboard
Noteworthy: Apple Cider, Forever Fall
Stamps: Ambrosia, Serenade

I hope you all are enjoying fall and the beautiful colors and the crisp
weather. Don't forget to join our blog hop tomorrow for
World Card Making Day.  Have a good one!!

September's Blog Class - Week 2

Hi Friends! Welcome to week 2 and Layout #2.
Just a reminder that these awesome pages were designed by Lynn Shokoples.

I've been at the Mall of America in Minnesota for Archiver's Scrapfest event
this week and picked up a lil somthin somthin in the air, so imagine my voice as
raspy and stuffy.  ha ha, I just didn't want to suffer alone.

Again, the original layout above was made by Lynn and has her cute kids at Disney
on it.  LOVE!  The altered layout below has few changes, but they were needed in order
to get one more layout out of the product for next week.  The 2 biggest changes are:
The blue arrow noteworthy piece going up the right side and the BLOSSOMS....
We still don't have those availiable to purchase so I just switched that up a little.
Reminder: The sizes of the papers you need to cut are on the supply list,
located in the top right hand corner of the blog.

Lynn distressed most of her edges, and I sanded all of mine, so use your favorite technique and
shabby up all the edges of your pieces.

Start with the Boarding Pass paper as your base. Add the big icon piece to the page.
Cut the points on the end of the long icon piece next and add to page.
Then find and cut out the cream bracket from the cutout page and adhere on right of page.

Next, adhere the backside of the 6 x 9 stripe piece to page.
From the "Home Sweet Hotel" sticker place the 'let's take a trip' sticker
in the bottom left corner. (Using an exacto knife, I cute out the inner bracket,
then used popdots on it and placed it in the center so there was a little dimension.

Adhere adhesive on 3 sides of the Coffee Vintage Dot piece (top, right side and bottom)
and adhere to page.  Place brad of your choice in Travel Log Noteworthy and tuck inside pocket.

For cluster in bottom right corner:
Using combo sticker alphabet, place your destination on the "My Contact Info" noteworthy and adhere as shown above. Then place Family Trip sticker (from the 'without a map' sticker set) on bottom right corner of photo mat. (I used pop dots on this piece)
Then from 12 x 12 chipboard and using pop dots adhere sign post to age.
Add layered chipboard piece 'detour' on top of sign post.
Adhere Trinket to chipboard suitcase piece and using pop dots adhere it to bottom right of sign post.

Now go on vacation and add your photo!
How quick and easy was that?  Don't you just love it!!!!???
I do.

Thanks again for playing along with our Destination layout class this month...
you guys are the best!

Sept Blog Class - Week One

Hi friends!

Today we are going to do a picture tutorial for our layout class.
Our class this month was designed by our guest design team member
Lynn Shokoples. Click on her name to find out more about her.
I love her technique and would always get so excited when she would post
on our facebook page and just had to invite her to come play with us.

This is the original layout made by Lynn. Her cute boy is enjoying the sun...
It doesn't say on the layout, but it looks a lot like Costa Maya.
I've recreated the layout and changed very little, but I'll let you know as we go along.
The sizes for all the papers have been included on your supply sheet.
(That's the one in the top right corner of the blog.)

I used an edge distresser on each piece of this layout.
Lynn used the distresser on some and black ink on other pieces.

Adhere 'Stripe' piece to base.
Fold top left corner of  'Globe Trotting' and sew onto layout.
(See the next 2 photos for samples of the sewing)
Cut out the tags you want to use on your layout and attach brads, stickers and jewels.
Notice, Lynn left her tags doubled when she cut them.
(You'll see what I'm talking about when you look at the cut out)
I actually cut the top tag out.  I like it both ways, we just wanted to give you options.
I also used foam squares on my sticker word strips.

Adhere tags to page as shown.
On this pocket, Lynn tilted her Henry Miller quote cut out piece and adhered all her pieces down.
On the same piece... I only adhere on the sides and bottom to form a pocket. and then tucked the
travel noteworthy and the map journal cut out piece inside the pocket for journaling.

After adhering pocket, adhere 2- 12" strips across the bottom of page as shown.
Because I like the added dimension, I used foam squares on the strip that says 'one way.'
Now all that's left is adding the 'You are here' noteworthy. (I foam squared it)
The layered chipboard arrow.
The 'travel' chipboard. (I foam squared it)
The suitcase trinket. If you have some extra twine laying around... tie it onto the luggage.

Now add your photo/photos and write up some journaling and you have a FABULOUS layout
your family will love to look at!

I've never done a written class, so if you have any questions at all or need clarification
on anything, just let me know.
Enjoy!

Double Page LO with limited supplies

Hey there..
Today Irene and Sam have made some amazing double page layout
with only the following...

4 sheets of patterned paper
1-2 sheets of cardstock
1 sheet of stickers (can be any of the sticker packages)
1 package of embellishments of your choice

Treasure the Moment
Irene Tan
Note: After this double page layout, there are still some pieces left of the pattern papers and rub-ons. You can use them to create several fast and easy small cards or tags. Clear stamps are very useful when you are scrapping on a budget. Simply just stamped them on some left over pattern papers or cardstocks to instantly create an embellishment for your layouts. or, it could easily be used to create some fast and easy layering by stamping on your layouts.
Don't you just love the detail? And fussy cutting... woot woot
Also, I asked Irene how she did her inking, cuz it looks so even and smooth,
she said: "I always use a sponge to ink my papers.
Either a Cut n Dry or a simple make-up foundation sponge."
Bo Bunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Dot, Sunrise, Garden, and Cut-Outs/Serenade
Cardstock: Double Dot in Clower Dot
Rub-ons: Serenade
Clear Stamps: Serenade

Good Times and Happy Memories
By Sam Wright

Designer tip: When working on a double page layout- work on it as a single 24” x 12” rather than two 12”x 12” page that you put together. This I find makes it so much easier to balance all the elements on my layouts! Cutting up the patterned paper helps to “stretch” the paper. It also enables you to repeat patterns.

Bo Bunny Supplies used:
Double Dot: Dark Denim Vintage
Patterned Paper: Detour Quotes, Arrows, Boarding Pass
Stickers: Without a map/ Detour
Chipboard: Detour dimensional chipboard

I hope you all are as in love with these layouts as much as me,
and they inspire you to do great things.  Try using this formula
for your next double hitter and let us know how it goes.

Field Trip Friday

Hey friends!  Happy Friday & for those in the US,
Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Today Tara Orr has made an amazing card with some fun techniques on it.

Tara said, "For this assignment I decided to do a card - which I have done more of lately, but my true comfort zone is still 12x12 layouts, In addition, I decided to do a masculine card vs. the very romantic, frilly and feminine cards that I normally create."

I'm here to say... rather Tara is in her comfort zone or not, she ooolways
ROCKS it out of the park!!!

Route 66
Tara Orr
I love that Tara used the Vintage Dot as the base of her card.
Do you know how many Vintage Dot colors we carry??
20. Yup. 20.
That means there is sure to be one that will match whatever project you're working on.

So.... I asked Tara if the stamp border was a border punch?
She said, "no, not a stamp punch. Just used my mini circle punch from Stampin' Up! and stamped with half of it all around the edge to create that postage stamp look..."

How cool is that? And sooo perfect with the Detour collection.
Bo Bunny Supplies:
Dimensional Stickers: Detour
Rub Ons: Detour
Patterned Paper: Quote, Stripe, Arrow, Destination/Detour
Cardstock: Vintage Chiffron

And just so I'm not alone, for those of you who know it...
I'm going out singing Nat King Cole's
♪ ♫ When you make that California trip... ♫

Now it can be stuck in your head too!!
Have a good weekend!

Distressing, sanding & punching, oh my!!!!

Can I just say how excited I am about today's post!
I love, love, love to shabby things up...
In fact, sometimes I forget to stop and go a lil overboard.

I think you are going to love the layouts and love the tips the girls
are giving us. They really are the best!!

Expedition
Irene Tan
Take a second look at this layout and don't be intimidated,
take it step by step and you'll be amazed what you can do!
Designer Tip: "There are several distressing techniques used on this layout.
Besides the usual edge distressing using a paper distresser, I've also used a
technique which I've started a very long time ago called "Extreme Punching to Distress" technique. This is a very easy and fun technique. Simply just use a hole
puncher and randomly punch on the edges or corners of your papers.
To make it more interesting, try using a hole puncher which can punch different
sizes of holes or try tearing away part of the punched area.
Later, ink the area with some distress ink to make it look more realistic."
Stitching is also a way to add dimension and shabbiness to a project.
And don't stress is your stitches are not straight or you go off the edge.  Sometimes
it's even fun to sand across your stitching so it breaks and the little ends fray.
Remember: There are no mistakes in scrapbooking... we just add character!!!!
See how in the photos above and below there are 'tears' in the paper?
Sometimes those are a happy accident, and sometimes, we do it on
purpose.  Either way... it's such a fun technique.
 Bo Bunny Supplies
Patterned Paper: Globe Trotting, Baggage Claim, Quotes, and Destination/Detour
Cardstock: Double Dot in Shadow Dot
Jewels: Detour
Chipboard: Detour 12 x 12
Flowers: Denim Blue Bouquet, Denim Blue Pansy

Dreamer
 Luzma
Paint is such and easy and fun way to add distressing to a layout.
Just dunk a toothbrush or stiffish paint brush in water.
Swish it around in a glob of paint, then while aiming at your project,
run across the bristles with your thumb. Voila' Instant splatter.
This will also work with an ink pad, your splatter will just be much lighter and finer.
Don't be afraid to distress the edge of your layout with both ink and an edge distresser,
or sand and ink.  Double distressing makes for extra character.
I love how Luz's brads make a splatter trail that matches the paint splatter...
it adds continuity to the layout.
 Bo Bunny Supplies
Patterned Paper: Serenade
Double Dot Paper: Licorice
Daisy Blossoms: Wildberry Daisy
Pansy Blossoms: Clover Pansy,Natural Earth Pansy
Brads: Serenade
Cardstock Sticker: Serenade
Jewels: Serenade
Buttons: Serenade
Layered Chipboard: Serenade
Dimensional Stickers: Serenade
Combo Sticker: Serenade
12X12 chipboard: Serenade

Distress, sand, ink, splatter, punch, tear and sew....
Today's layouts are definitely not short on inspiration.
Thanks for hanging out!
