Hello Summer Layout with Malin

Hi!
Malin here and today I want to share with you a colorful and cute layout of my niece.
The card is taken one evening when we went down to the lake for a late evening swim. It´s so cozy going down to the lake in the evenings in the summer. My family and my brothers family and my mom went down there and it was a really lukewarm evening. Love it!

I have been using the Bee-utiful paper collections and embelishments. Made my own lollipop flower with som goldglitter on it. The colors in the collection match so prefectly with my photo I think! I hope you will like it.

Escape to Paradise Cards with Marilyn

Hello everyone!

Marilyn here to share with you three cards that I made with the beautiful Escape to Paradise collection. It was so fun to work with this collection the images are adorable, let's take a look...
My first card is 5 1/2" by 4 1/2" inches. I started cutting a rectangle from the flower paper then I cut a circle to create a window. I adhere this flower paper to my card base.

I stamped some flowers in a white cardstock using the Simply Flower stamp and the Color Wheel Inks by Vicki Boutin. I cut out the flowers with the scissors and adhered them to the card.

I adhered a few of the flowers with adhesive foam dots to create dimension. The adorable flamingo is from the Noteworthy package, I just cut it out  from one of the die cuts and the sentiment from one of the paper. Once I made the composition, I adhered all the pieces and for the final touch  I made some dots with the pearlescents in coral and blue colors.

My second card is fun and easy to do. It's the bigger of the three cards, it is 7 1/2" by 4 1/2" inches. I cut another circle to create a window in the blue paper when I can show the adorable fish that are from the sticker sheet.
I'm using the Noteworthy die cuts and the sticker to make this card, it's so easy to work with it. I added some dots with the pearlescent to give the effect of water bubbles.

Finally, I made the dotted lines with a black gel pen.

I love this paper with the pineapples, it reminds me of the delicious "Pina Colada" and the Caribbean beaches. It is a simple card with many layers that I highlighted them with the dotted lines. I cut a square 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" inches in a black cardstock and adhered to the center.

I used the Layered Chipboard in this card. I can't resist to use the adorable pineapple with the brilliant crown.

I cut and adhered two tiny flowers from one of the papers, added some dots with the pearlescents and a few sequins.

Here are the three cards, I hope they inspire you! Thanks you so much for stopping by...until next time!

Weekend Adventures Travel Journal with Katherine

Hi BoBunny Fans, as the summer is under way I wanted to share with you my travel journal, it was a great little project that I could take away with me and meant I was able to scrap in my tent!

Katherine Sutton - Sunshine Travel Journal

I made the book before I went and purposely kept the front cover clean and simple, so it was easy to store and nothing would get knocked off on it's travels.  I also had a go at some coptic binding.

Sunshine Travel Journal by Katherine Sutton using BoBunny Weekend Adventures

It's fairly straight-forward - the hardest part was sewing the covers on.  To make the covers I used some cereal box type card, and then covered it in paper.  I cut 7 papers to be 10 by 8", scored them in the middle (so my pages are 5 by 8") and added little pin-prick holes at 1",2",3" then 5",6" and 7" with a pokey tool.  With Coptic binding you tend to add 4 papers together into what makes a signature and bind them all together, as the BoBunny paper is nice and thick I only used one piece of paper for each signature.  The best bit about  this sort of binding is that you can very easily lay your book flat as you work.

For my opening page I have a little pocket for receipts, tickets and other little bits from our travels, and then my first photo is our camp.  I haven't used much mixed media in this project because I was in a tent, but the pearlescents were a perfect embellishment to take with me.

You can see the stitching down the centre of the page from the binding.  The Good Vibes paper has lots of phrases on it, and they feature throughout my journal.

I also had lots of fun including lots of the icon stamps in my journaling - perfect for planners and journals alike.

I created a triangular pocket so that I could keep some of the leaflets about the area in my journal.

I used one of the cloud dies from the Fly Away die-set and added little gems to make rain drops....the weather wasn't perfect but we made the most of it!

I pre-made these journal spots using the chevron 6" pad before we left - I just picked out some colours that went with the papers.

I also added lots of stamped embellishments which I made before we left using the Woodland Critter stamp set.  I stamped and embossed them on watercolour card and then gave them a wash of colour

I think the bear is my favourite!

More bears in the form of the Bear Necessities die, and also some stamping from the Captured Stamp set - I cut out the This Week part and added it to one of the Noteworthy tags.

I hope you've enjoyed a little tour of my Travel Journal - it is a lovely project to take away with you and build up as you go - everything I needed fitted in a 12" box, and if you have a small photo printer then you can add the photos as you go.

One Layout Three Ways Featuring Weekend Adventures with Angela

Hello dear BoBunny friends,

It's Angela here and I'm so happy to be with you with another series of One Layout Three Ways.

When I make scrapbook pages, I usually start my creative process with the photo, but not this time. In this case, what captured my eyes was the paper.

In fact, the Weekend Adventure Beachy pattern, reminds me so much about the sea!

I loved that little beach umbrella so much that I decided to repeat the by idea cutting a big one with my silhouette machine and putting it in the center of the page,

That's my first version of the layout, perfect for a clean and simple style:

Then, I decided to move a step further and I decided to create a cluster of embellishments around the photo and the journaling. This is what I ended with for my second version of the layout, using little cute chipboards and die-cuts with fun shapes.

A few other details to complete the page.
I love using a touch of color here and there, I consider it a must, the finishing touch of a 'respectable' page! This time I went for splatters of gold, to remind you of the hot sun of summer.
I also added a tiny bit of blue, which is the main color of the page, and Voilà! Here is my third version.

Another must is the date of when I've done the page, ah and the signature too!

I adore thick layouts and, as you can see from the following closeup, this is a very thick one.
For making this, I took a second paper of Weekend Adventure Beachy cardstock and fussy cut all the little beach umbrellas and adhered them to the page with foam tape.

I made the same with the big beach umbrella.
I cut two of them, one in white, the second in craft color, to imitate the shadow of the umbrella on the sand and adhere the two pieces with other foam tape.

Down by the Sea and Pentart Rust Effects System with Amy

Hey There Bo Bunny Friends,

Amy here with a great technique to use when wanting to create some more dimension in your ocean theme layouts.

Here is 'Let the Sea Set you Free' Shadow box

The Pentart rust effect.

The rust effect system is quite fun to play with, but there is potential for a little messiness. Read and follow the instructions first and prepare your area there are some important tips to make sure you follow for best results.

1. Use a slow drying paint or gesso as your base for the metal to adhere too.  Pentart Iron Paste is a fabulous option. If you need color, mix your acrylic paints with another medium.

2. Once you have added your drops of the rust reagents. LET IT DRY!

3. The rust will leak through paper, and it is totally normal. I was ok with this as I was trying to make an underwater scene and it is always good to have a blotch or two of any color. You can always use chipboard on top if you need the rust in specific spots.

Here are some more close ups of my shadow box

I hope you have enjoyed this post and are ready to start playing with your Down by the Sea collection and getting your hands dirty with all the fun Pentart products BoBunny carries.

Stay Scrappy
