Time for Tea Canvas with Denise

Hello BoBunny Fans!

It's Denise here today to share a mixed media canvas with you using the cute and gorgeous Early Bird collection.

Early Bird_Time for Tea Canvas_Denise_11 Jun_01

I loved the idea of making a kitchen canvas, based on one of the things I really love and that is a cup of tea! So the "Time for Tea" canvas came to life.

I did a white washed effect on the background of the canvas and then added crackled stenciling, some texture, more paint and some stamping.

I added some extra wording too, which tied in nicely with the theme of Time for Tea.

I added some die-cut leaves around the cups and teapot, to carry through the styling and also added some pearlescent and jewels to the centres of the cups and teapot.

Lastly, here is a close-up of the crackled stenciling and the stamping around the edge of the canvas.

So "Time for Tea" anyone? I would love to share a cuppa and some creativity with you!
Have a fabulous day!

Be the Light-Mixed Media Layout-with Elena O

"Be the Light" Layout

Hello BoBunny friends. Elena is here today.

August is one of my favorite months, and I like it for the colors it is filled with - mostly bright colors like tan, gold, yellow and  orange.

However I love these colors in my daily life and for my today's post it was a bit of fun to use them for my layout.

faith_layout_elena_Aug22_01

I used Faith collection and it is bold and bright, full of expression.

I started with creating the layers over my 2 pictures, and since my youngest holds the large ball in his hands, it has determined the shape for the most part of my embellishments

faith_layout_elena_Aug22_02

I cut out some of the scalloped circles from the papers, as well as some doodled flowers.

Then I followed the circle theme and stenciled some of them with the glitter paste

I also played with coloring some spaces with Pentart acrylic paints.

But the main focus was this light bulb, and the phrase within it.

Serendipity and Mixed Media Mania! with Elena O.

Hello, it's Elena here today and I am excited to share with you my tags I've  made.

Feathers Tags by Elena Olinevich using BoBunny Serendipity Collection

I mixed Serendipity Noteworthy Die cuts and made some fussy cutting, but before that I started with my background. This time I played with the new Stencil Pastes from Pentart and the new stencils

The new stencils are really great and allow you to add more dimension. I added two colors at once.  They blend together beautifully..

I also made some paper layers and added the color with the acrylic paints from Pentart

It was fun to create the texture with the metallic paints and the pastes

I especially liked the 3D powder and balls, that I mixed with silver and gold paints for a uniqiue looking textured feature.

The birds and the flowers are so cute to add to any spring or summer projects

To add more shimmer and glow to my cards, I used the new Glamour metallic paint in Gold.  This is unlike any paint I've ever used before. it is highly pigmented, but brushes on SHEER so you can see through to the paper underneath. It is super cool.

I like the result it produces

Game On! and Pentart Lasur Gel Indoor with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Technique Tuesday post today!

Let's say that I am not much of a sports lover. Maybe even the totally opposite? So making a sport collection project has been an interesting challenge for me.  But, I think (and I hope you agree) that I found the way to make it fun an even to give it  one of my family members who loves sports!

So  also we are talking about techniques today.  So, this is not a real tutorial, but mostly some tips and tricks that I discovered while I was making this piece.

Here how it looks on the wall, also it will be moved from my wall and delivered to my dear son-in-law in a couple of days.

Sports Wall Decor by Irit Shalom

This was the bare wood dollar store three part frame with corkboard on the top, wooden frame in the middle and a cute little box for the bottom section.

While making this piece I managed to remake the cork into a half of a magnetic board.

The photo frame was remade to chalk board and the box is still the box.

So, first I painted  the whole piece with Pentart Cottage Green Lasur Indoor gel. This stuff is neat to use as it colors the wood but still lets the grain show through

I really love this "not so perfect" look of the wood that you get with this paint.   I painted one single layer and decided to leave it this way.

The middle portion was painted with two layers of chalkboard paint. Yes, this is glass chalkboard paint and here is my first tip: it WORKS-perfectly even on the wooden surface.

Then I decided to leave half of the cork as is and to paint another half with magnetic paint.

It was another experiment and also I had to make three layers-it WORKS!

Here is the second tip for today: Pentart Magnetic paint works on soft cork surface as well.

Now, time for embellishing the painted piece.

I added small strong magnets over the chipboard piece without peeling the backing. If you want to peel the white glossy backing paper you need to add some baby powder over the glued side of those sticky chipboard pieces.

And here is another tip: BoBunny small chipboards make perfect quick in a minute magnets!

If you want  them to last forever cover them with a thick layer of Pentart Glossy Varnish.

First I tried to use chalk marker over the painted chalkboard part. The result was really disappointing.

So I tried the white pen and BINGO! You can use white pen and to wipe it off with a baby wipe. It works perfectly .

So I just added the white pen on the side using clear Velcro strip.

As you can see each part was also decorated with clear sticker.

And the last part was decorated with stickers, chipboards and handmade tags made with BoBunny craft dies.

So not much techniques to learn, but a lot of good tips to keep in mind while you work with Pentart products.

And a final look at this altered project:
