Game On! and Pentart Lasur Gel Indoor with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Technique Tuesday post today!

Let's say that I am not much of a sports lover. Maybe even the totally opposite? So making a sport collection project has been an interesting challenge for me.  But, I think (and I hope you agree) that I found the way to make it fun an even to give it  one of my family members who loves sports!

So  also we are talking about techniques today.  So, this is not a real tutorial, but mostly some tips and tricks that I discovered while I was making this piece.

Here how it looks on the wall, also it will be moved from my wall and delivered to my dear son-in-law in a couple of days.

Sports Wall Decor by Irit Shalom

This was the bare wood dollar store three part frame with corkboard on the top, wooden frame in the middle and a cute little box for the bottom section.

While making this piece I managed to remake the cork into a half of a magnetic board.

The photo frame was remade to chalk board and the box is still the box.

So, first I painted  the whole piece with Pentart Cottage Green Lasur Indoor gel. This stuff is neat to use as it colors the wood but still lets the grain show through

I really love this "not so perfect" look of the wood that you get with this paint.   I painted one single layer and decided to leave it this way.

The middle portion was painted with two layers of chalkboard paint. Yes, this is glass chalkboard paint and here is my first tip: it WORKS-perfectly even on the wooden surface.

Then I decided to leave half of the cork as is and to paint another half with magnetic paint.

It was another experiment and also I had to make three layers-it WORKS!

Here is the second tip for today: Pentart Magnetic paint works on soft cork surface as well.

Now, time for embellishing the painted piece.

I added small strong magnets over the chipboard piece without peeling the backing. If you want to peel the white glossy backing paper you need to add some baby powder over the glued side of those sticky chipboard pieces.

And here is another tip: BoBunny small chipboards make perfect quick in a minute magnets!

If you want  them to last forever cover them with a thick layer of Pentart Glossy Varnish.

First I tried to use chalk marker over the painted chalkboard part. The result was really disappointing.

So I tried the white pen and BINGO! You can use white pen and to wipe it off with a baby wipe. It works perfectly .

So I just added the white pen on the side using clear Velcro strip.

As you can see each part was also decorated with clear sticker.

And the last part was decorated with stickers, chipboards and handmade tags made with BoBunny craft dies.

So not much techniques to learn, but a lot of good tips to keep in mind while you work with Pentart products.

And a final look at this altered project:

Felicity, Pentart and Chalkboard

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a set of cards I created with Felicity and Pentart Chalkboard Paint. I've been waiting for the right occasion to create some chalkboard tags and this is it! They were easy and fun and if you want to make a lot...well just set up an assembly line.  This paint dries really fast which is fabulous for impatient crafters like me...I'm always ready to move on to the next step.

To create the tags I used the Nested Fancy Frame Dies to cut the shapes from 110 lb cardstock. Why did I choose that specific paper? First I wanted the paper to be thick enough to be sturdy when applying the paint. Second the thicker weight has a nice smooth texture so the painted finish will be nice and smooth, which is key to the project. The die adds a bit of an edge and I took advantage of that to apply adhesive and embossing powder then heat set to create a nice clean border. I also used my anti static "floofler" so the stray bits of powder wouldn't ruin my chalkboard finish. Floofler is my term for the tiny talc pillow. I'm sure there's a real name for it....but floofer is more fun to say. Add a metal eyelet and a bit of twine and the tag is done.

Once I had decided to add a black tag to the card I knew it would need balance so I chose to add a black cardstock to border the pretty light colors of the Felicity Collection.

These Layered Chipboard Stickers are dreamy and the perfect floral accent.

A crisp white doily and simple seam binding bow are the perfect finishing touch.

The tag for this card is just a bit smaller and tucked into the die cuts and chipboard sticker.

Rather than adding highly contrasting patterned paper I chose instead to add texture by layering in the quatrefoil diecut then top it off with the lovely floral frame.

I wanted to add a bit of lace so I fussy cut some from the patterned paper and adhered a few pearly flower accents.

This coral seam binding is the perfect match to the pretty flowers and give a little feminine touch.

One Layout, Three Ways with Shizuka-featuring Felicity

Hello BoBunny friends! It's Shizuka here today. I would love to share with you my way of creating this one layout with 3 different looks using Beautiful "Felicity" collection.

Let's take a look at my first layout. It's very clean and simple. I stamped the paper using Pentart chalkboard paint and packaging materials,  I cut out some parts of a pattern of paper, then layered them on the layout.

Now, for the second layout.  I added some Noteworthy and cut out patterned papers. I also used some decorated brads.

I cut and used the grid pattern Noteworthy. It's easy to show depth and I like the finished look. I do like second version, it's not bad, but  I wanted to add a little more work.

Finally, here is my third layout.  I added some paper from Noteworthy, which I cut further, added layered chipboard and foil vellum paper. I also added a few spots of three colors using some Pearlescents , Glitter Paste and Glimmer Spray. I also decorated with some Jewels.

Below are some close-ups on the layout.

I hope you enjoy my layouts!
Thank you!!

Shizuka

Chalkboard Project with Ulrika

Chalkboard by Ulrika Wandler

Hi there! Ulrika here to show you how I made a piece of a cutting board into a chalkboard!

Chalkboard Alter by Ulrika Wandler using BoBunny Felicity Collection

So, I had this cutting board from Ikea that lasted for a year or so. Then it cracked in the middle.... so rather than throwing it in the trash, I used one of the halves to make a chalkboard to write on using Pentarts fabulous chalkboard paint!

I started with painting the wooden piece with the chalkboard paint. After that I painted the edges with Pentart creamy acrylic paint in white. Then I adhered some strips of patterned paper along the edges.

I decorated with diecuts, flowers, chipboard pieces and stickers. I also made it bling with some Double Dot jewels.

Felicity "Sunday Funday" Plaque

Sunday Funday Plaque featuring Felicity and Pentart Chalk Paint designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

BoBunny Sunday Funday Altered Plaque featuring Felicity and Pentart Chalk Paint designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel

Sunday greetings to you, it's Rhonda here to share my project with you. I am using the pretty Felicity collection and pairing it up with Pentart Chalk Paint.

To begin, I base coated my wooden plaque with the Dekor Paint Soft in Cream-White. Next, I mixed the Green Chalkboard Paint with the Dekor Paint Soft in Cream-White.

Initially I intended on doing a dry brush technique for shabby chic coverage, but instead opted for 2 coats and then sanded the outer edges and a few random places to distress slightly. Once sanded, the texture is very smooth.

After the initial paint and sanding, I used several stencils from the Brocade Stickable Stencils using Pearlescents and Pentart Structure Paste. Once they dried, I did a variety of stamping and Glimmer Spray splatters.

The inspirational quote from the collection that I feature here is found in the Combo Stickers. It's layered with several pieces of floral Noteworthy elements as well. The heart trim layered beneath the tag is also from the Combo Stickers.

To create my collage of layers, I cut several clocks from the Serendipity paper, then I found my sentiment block in the Parasol paper and added a border of Felicity Foil Vellum behind it. Then I used a piece of cutwork from Noteworthy which I cut apart and layered behind. It coordinated so perfectly with the sentiment block.

I used a good variety of Glimmer Sprays as well as a bit of stamping to add more interest. I also used the Chameleon Wax Paste in Blue that adds just a hint of an iridescent shimmer to the scroll cutwork and outer border of the project. I also used a bit of the Pentart Patina Liquid to add a few additional splatters.

Some of the Noteworthy elements are embellished with Double Dot Jewels in Aqua.

The Iron Works Wood Shape was painted using the Pentart Dekor Paint Soft in Cream-White. I really loved working with the Pentart products, they allowed me to customize the color to perfectly coordinate to the Felicity Collection.
