Penelope and an Altered Art Frame with Katherine

Hi Everyone,

Katherine here with a fun project using one of the new chipboard frames from BoBunny and lots of papers from the Penelope collection along with a couple fun mixed media techniques.

I took the square chipboard frame which comes in pieces and then coated it with a layer of Eggplant Pentart Creamy Acrylic.  Once that was dry, I added Crackle Medium in a few places around the frame.  I then mixed my own "blue" using white, dark blue, jade and a bit of silver too, adding a coat to further distress the frame.  I then went around with some of the silver metallic wax paste, some greenish silver metallic paint mixed with a little bit of matching creamy acrylic paint!

Then I added papers to back of my frame which will hold a 6" by 4" photo, slotted my frame together and proceeded to decorate it with the Penelope papers.

In the Noteworthy sheet (Abbey) from this collection there are loads of beautiful blue peonies, I cut these out and snipped the petals right into the centre, then bent the leaves up and inked the edges, adding a pearl to the centre, for extra depth and texture.

Here you can see some of the layers of paint and the chocolate brown coat through the crackles.

The silver metallic wax paste is the perfect medium to cover some of the laser cut butterflies, and you can bend the wings up and they will hold their shape.  The wax also works beautifully on the wood veneers too.

I created little clusters of the flowers,  layering them up

Thanks for stopping by today!

Versailles Layout-Features Garden Party and Katherine

Hi BoBunny Fans!

I have a mixed media page complete with a video for you today using the gorgeous greens and purples from the Garden Party collection.

Katherine Sutton: Versailles

Versailles Scrapbook Page by Katherine Sutton for BoBunny using Garden Party

I used Fragrant as the base and add strips of Garden Party, Enchanted and Serenity on top.  I complimented the colours in the papers with some stamping using the Dreamer stamp set and also the Delicate Metallic paints in greenish silver and purplish silver.  I talk you through the full layout in the video at the end of the post.

The Dreamer stamps add another layer to the page and more colour; I watered down some of the delicate metallic paints in greenish silver and purplish silver to add more flicks of colour to the page too.

I dyed my gauze with the delicate metallic paints and added the Tick Tock die to the top corner.

Here you can see a banner made from the chipboard in the Ephemera Pack and also one of the Laser Cut Heart chipboard pieces which I have covered with Silver Metal Wax and also some Lavender Glitter paste.

Designer's Choice-Serendipity and Pentart with Ayumi

Hello BoBunny friends!! It's Ayumi here.

Today I will introduce mixtmedia layout I made with BoBunny Serendipity collection and Pentart products.

[You're beautiful] mixtmedia layout  By Ayumi Iwashita

Photography:Studio Petit Pas

Let me show you how to make it.
First, prepare white paper which is water resistant.
I will put a glimmer mist there.
Overall spread in the mist of water.

Next, prepare the frame.

Coating the frame all over with the white gesso, and when it is dry, brush on the Glimmer Spray.

I painted the Tutu and Mint Glimmer Spray colors with the brush in the same way.

When the mist dries, I spread a bit of these three Pearlescents in strategic spots for extra shine.

Next, I will decorate using pictures and pattern paper.

Then I paint with different colors of Pentart Delicate Acrylic Paint.

Add 3D Balls and 3D Powder to give a few small patches of texture.

Then I sprayed Mint Glimmer Spray on the 3D textures.

Finally it is completed with well placed touches of stamping!

Thanks for joining me today.

Enjoy your scrappy day!

Altered Shadow Box Frame with Down by the Sea and Irit

Hello, dear crafty friends and welcome to my BoBunny Fine Arts post this week.

Today I am going to share an alteration of a cheap plastic $1 shadow box frame made with the newly released Down by the Sea collection, some of other new BoBunny released tools and products  and a lot of old and new Pentart mediums and paints.

Take Me to the Ocean Altered Shadow Box by Irit Shalom

It's not a tutorial post, but still I want to share the ways this plastic box was altered.

So as it's a plastic surface I first covered it inside and out with Pentart White acrylic primer.

When it was dry I painted it with all possible blue and greenish acrylic paints from Pentart that I have in my stash.  I included the full supply list is at the end of this post for you to see.

Then I added a layer of Pentart Classic Crackle Varnish and you can see the gorgeous result mostly inside the box as the outer frame was painted with more paints and mediums and a good portion of the of the result was obscured, but the effect is still quite strong.

Then the circles were added using Turquoise and Sea Foam Glitter pastes and the new fantastic Backsplash thick stencil.

Three different BoBunny glimmer sprays were added over the dry area and I added 3D Balls and powder on the bottom to plump up the texture and give it depth.

The inside of the box was made with four layers of torn cardstock and one single die cut from the Mandala die and then the chipboard pieces were added inside and over the frame.

Here are some close-ups to the background on the frame:

Down by the Sea, Mixed Media-One Layout Three Ways with Marilyn

Hello everyone! We all have different styles, some like simple things, others with more details or someone like me with lot of layers, paints and details.. I'm going to share with you today-one layout  in three ways with the new Down by the Sea collection and the new Spring stuff, let's take a look...

This is my final project with many layers, stamping, mixed media product but before that I explain all the creative process let's go to see how I started in the next picture, working backwards with me.

 #1 Way

I selected the Down by the Sea Seahorse as my base paper. Then I made a design with the chipboard and Noteworthy pieces, next I adhered the photo. It looks simple and clean.

 #2 Way

Then I added color around all the design with Pentart Delicate Metallic and blue creamy acrylic paints. After drying, I gave textures with the Backsplash Stencils and the new Pentart Stencil Paste in Ice Flower color. Finally, I added white and blue paint splatters.

To take it to the next level (#3) I stamped randomly with the Doodles stamp and added yellow paint splatter for extra textures.

I added some Blue Hues Jewels and a well placed touches of  3D Balls that I adhered with Pentart Express Glue.

I love the chipboard pieces, they look adorable and fun  and add just the right feel to this seaside layout scheme.

You can see here all the textures...
And here are the three ways...which one is your personal favorite?

Down by the Sea Party Papercrafts with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit here today and I am going to celebrate Summer with my Down by the Sea Mermaid Party projects.

I am not a real " themed parties person". Usually our party is all about food and drinks and some simple decorations.

But when I have a mood and  great paper supplies I am more than happy to make a whole line of party decorations. And with BoBunny new Down by  the Sea collection this was amazing fun to make fun decor for the party!

As you can see I made the main banner (close- up shown later in this post).

I added a few napkin rings (just the sample; you need to make much more for the real party). I also made the samples of lovely place cards and two large toppers that can be used for the cake or for the flowers central piece or  just for any purpose .

The toppers were made with the circle hand cut base and Mandala die cut. Then  the chipboard hand cut flag was added and covered with another patterned cardstock from this delicious collection. The flag was added to Mandala with BoBunny Aqua brads.

One of the toppers was finished with a layered chipboard and second with cardstock cut.

The napkin rings were die cut with new Darling Doily die from the patterned Down by the Sea cardstock and this cardstock is just perfect as you can cut 9 different Mermaids from one single cardstock sheet and to make 9 napkin rings.  I added the die cut doilies over the circle die cut from Mystical cardstock.

The place cards were made from a solid piece of Plunge cardstock with Sweetheart die cut and then the die cut piece was glued over the negative space with some gap as shown.

I added a piece of chipboard strip over each card and then one of the Fancy tags die cuts was added as the place for the name.

And now for some close- ups of the banner.

I hand cut the huge flags and added the second and the third flag layers over the basic layer.

The edges were glittered with the new Seafoam Glitter paste and the second layer edges were painted with new Pentart Delicate Dark gold acrylic paint.

Some texture was added on this flag with new Summer Days stencil (waves) and Ice Flower Pentart stencil paste.

Then some chipboards and Noteworthy die cuts were added over the piece.

The second  flag was made in the same way around the edges. I added some Turquoise Glitter paste with  my favorite BoBunny dotted stencil and then added the large chipboard frame and saying,

The third and central flag was made as a shaker piece  and you can see the inside sequins and beads under the transparency. Some Ice Flower paste dots were added on the external flag.

The next piece was stencilled in the same way with Seafoam Glitter paste and chipboard piece were added to embellish this part of my banner.

The last piece was made in the same way as the first one using Flower Fun stencil to add the dimension.
